Stanozolol is a structural analogue of testosterone which increases collagen production and decreases the anti-anabolic action of cortisone. It is also reported to reduce fibrin deposition. In the case of patients with liver disease, it is advisable to monitor the rates of cholestasis. Stanozolol adverse effects are generally rare, moderately large and irreversible in some cases.
